29 Oct How does the writer make use of the allusion into the essay
Verbs: Past Tense? Present? by Melanie Dawson & Joe Essid (printable version right here)
General Guidance
You will want to keep the verbs you use in the same tense when you write an essay, an exam answer, or even a short story. Keep in mind, moving from tense to tense can be extremely confusing.
eg. Mrs. Mallory sees her son that is returning and in her excitement, twisted her ankle instead defectively. Her cousin calls a doctor instantly.
In this example, the verb "twisted" could be the only verb that appears into the past tense.
